New Ringnecks

I've just purchased a pair of baby ringnecks about a week ago so I know that I don't have the full effect at this time! I LOVE my babies! Mojo is so sweet and curious and she loves me to death. Charlie is sweet and a bit timid but is slowly gaining confidence and trust. They freak out when they hear I'm home and want to be let out immediately. I couldn't be happier. If you're looking... be sure to get hand raised babies, it makes all the difference. And spend all the time that you can with them!!!

New Ringnecks

I have 2 young Indian Ringnecks 1-Blue and 1-White they are very young and live to be held and talked to. I make sure to take them out of there cage each day and spend at least an hour with each one to make sure they stay tamed.

bebe

i adore my ringneck i rescued him/her from rspca, bebe had been taken from owners they didnt give reason why.when i took bebe home i noticed the left wing looked liked it had bad wing clip the other wing is fine,i have had bebe now for 4 and half months in this time i have started to build some trust up takes food from me and will let me stand close talking, bebe says hello and babbles contently, today bebe touched my finger and pulled at my sleeve trying to get seeds i was holding on a small tray this was wonderful emotion for me to see that bebe is slowy gainin confidence with me,it is great to see how bebe has come on from the bird that would flap franticaly around in the cage if i went near it from not wanting food from me,now he does a cute noise to let me know he wants something,i was told i would never tame my ringneck, but with my perseverence and love a bond is slowly forming i think i am doin pretty well so far

emerald

my new indian ringneck loves everyone, especially my sister. I don't know the gender yet, and we took him/her to a vet, but she said it's too early to say. We didn't have much money with us because we had spent everything to buy him/her his/her cage and everything. He/she was already handtamed. He/she is so adorable and sometimes funny!

Jungle Call

I have Sunny, going on 18 yrs. Got her at 3 yrs old and had biting issues. She still has her moments, but careful observation (especially pupil pinning and and body posture) almost always warns me to use her 'step-up stick' instead of bare hand. I haven't seen any posts that address their vocal volumn or what I call the 'jungle call'. If she is within touching distance, her screech will make my ears ring. She can also be very demanding at times, however smart smart smart and still learning new tricks. Never did learn a word other than what she came to me with, which is "pretty bird".

My little Coco Popo

I have a male Indian Ringneck,20 months.I keep him indoors.Once he was ill,was nt doing his early whistling & was sad all day.the chemist advised Amoxilin syrup 125mg(1 drop,3 times daily for a week.)its really cure him.Now he is a cheerful Coco, but fly twice to my neighbour's place through the opened window.Had to cut its wings.I cant do otherwise or he will be eaten by crows...& cats.....

Sid

Ihad the most adorable green IRN called Sid he is 18 months old and just got his black ring. he is very attached to me. I he says preety and does a wolf whistle. We have lots of whistles we do to one another. Unfortunately last week he worked out how to escape his cage . I caught him the first time but on Saturday he got out and flew away. I tracked him down but he wouldnt come to me. Found him the next day in the park and got within a metre of him then he flew off. so heart broken loved him so much. I have spent every day searching for him and calling him morning and night. I am so scared he will die from lack of food or water.

Taming ringneck

Hi guys, i aquired a indian ringneck female about a month ago, she is about three to six months old, when i got her she was feral. I now have her eating apple out of my hand and stepping up very briefly, i try to handle her as much as i can without distressing her. I havent let her out of the cage yet, she has clipped wings, is there any info i should know or am i on the right track, any responses would be appreciated. Cheers Trent

MY BOY BLU

I've had parrots since I was 12 yrs old. I have my first Indian Ringneck I have had now 8 months now..had him sexed cause I wanted a male..he will be a year old the end of March coming up. He was wild at first but I tamed him..not he wants me all the time, I feel bad when I have to leave home for the day. He started talking at 8 months..he wont talk but listens when hes near me but when he cant see me in the house he starts chattering everything hes learned. Hes sooo cute and sweet! I love bird campanions..and they are so very smart!
