Green cheek conure!
- I love my little conure I'm 15 I have had him for three years now . Depending on the age/maturity of your child. A great starter is a tiel if he/she is young (your child). But if you think that mentally they are mature go with a green cheek

Best Pet Birds For Kids
- I've had budgies and cockatiels and a macaw and I would say birds are excellent friends. So for guest birdman, I have no idea what is coming out of him. For young kids, canaries or finches are great, especially the gouldan finch, they are beautiful. But if the kid wants an interactive bird, then best wait till they are a bit more older and get a bird like a budgie or lovebird or parrotlet or cockatiel. Cockatiels are the biggest of the few and have more bite power. Be careful though, when a cockatiel gets angry, it can bite fairly hard, which can cause bleeding sometimes. But overall, they are friendly and loving. I will also suggest getting a handfed bird for your kid as handfed ones are more interactive and not so scared of humans. Enjoy your new bird! tiels and toos
- If you have a child under 12 and they want a bird the parents should get them a cockatiel. But if the child is older than 16 you should think about getting them a cockatoo. Cockatoos are bigger than cockatiels so it makes them easier to handle than the little cockatiels

Go Cockatiels!
- Yeah just shut your stupid mouth guest birdman! I'm guessing you never had a bird as a pet and you don't know anything about them. Birds are great pets for kids and I recommend the cockatiel! They are sweet and loving pets! Oh and budgies (parakeets), canaries, Conures, senegal parrots, lovebirds, and pionus parrots are great too! Finches I'm not so sure because they don't do well with human interaction or some hyper kid! So finches are not a good pet for kids. Doves are great pets for kids too but only those older kids who know how to handle them! I hope this helped! :) And once again guest birdman, if you can't say anything useful then just shut up! By guest :)guess!

Cockatiels for sure
- Out of all the birds I have ever adopted, I think 'tiels are the best companion birds for kids. They are gentle, loving, affectionate, and very smart.

Cockatiels!
- Of course cockatiels are the best! I'm nine and I'm gonna get one for my tenth birthday. I can't wait!

Cockatiels R Awesome!
- I'm ten years old and i'm going to get a cockatiel to play with my two budgies when i go back to china at summer break. i know they r great pets. they won't let me down!

seriously speaking
- a cockatiel may not be a excellent pet cause they are more large and takes responsibility.but on the other hand, they can be awesome pets cause they are so loving and affectionate.

As A Parent....
- Having a bird is a bird is a big responsibility, and kids are already enough, so you would want a bird that does not take up much space and are easy to care for. A budgie, canary, finch or parrotlet is good. A cocky is also a fantastic pet for kids, but are more of a responsibility 'cause they're more larger birds.

What I Learned From Feather
- had a cockatiel named Feather, he was the most loving, adorable, affectionate bird.if you want a good snuggly bird then cockatiel is definitely on the top.next i would recommend parakeets or parrotlets.

Large Macaws BEWARE
- If you are considering purchasing a large bird such as a macaw for houses with small children, be wary. Large macaws can take up more space, requires more attention and may get pretty destructive if left alone for too long, considering that kids have school to worry about. Also large macaws have VERY powerful beaks so kids too small might accidentally get hurt. Birds that are better for kids may be the cockatiel, the budgie, lovebirds, parakeets, or canaries. Finches are also wonderful pets, but tend to have trouble if the child wants to interact with the bird.
