Adopting a bird can be expensive, and as any bird owner knows, one of the highest costs of bird ownership can often be the price of getting a large cage for your new feathered friend. Some large parrot cages can cost upwards of $1000 or more, so many bird owners opt to look for bargains in the form of buying used cages at a lesser price point. While buying a used cage can certainly help you get the most bang for your buck in terms of space for your pet, there are many variables concerning used cages that can mean trouble for pet birds if their owners don't know what to look for. If you are in the market for a used cage, then check out my article on Buying a Used Bird Cage for tips that will help you make sure that your purchase will be a safe and secure home for your feathered friend. Don't be fooled into thinking that any old bird cage will work for your pet -- do your homework to make sure that your cage is free of issues that could cause problems for your bird!
