Birds Found to Recognize Human Faces

Monday September 8, 2008
Biologists at the University of Washington have discovered that at least some bird species have the ability to recognize individual human facial characteristics.

In a study of crows that utilized volunteers wearing distinct looking masks on their faces, the researchers found that the birds were able to recognize and remember which faces were "friendly" and which were threatening to them.

Check out the whole story for more insight into just how the study worked and what its findings could mean. Each day we seem to find out more and more about just how intelligent our feathered friends are, and learning more about them enables us to provide them with the highest quality care.
