The answer is not always a simple one, mainly because new owners often don't understand that what may feel like a painful bite to us can be a normal and natural behavior for their bird to exhibit.

With a brain the size of pea (maybe):-) my Canary occasionally “beaks” me or acts like he might. I assumed he was being territorial, which I believe is part of his natural behavior. Anyway, when he does peck, it is never very hard. I love your site!
