Bird of the Week: Lucky Charlie the Cockatiel

Wednesday July 23, 2008
This week's featured bird has a story to tell. It's a muti-faceted story; one of warning to bird owners, but also of compassion and love. Meet this week's Bird of the Week: Lucky Charlie the Cockatiel. Badly injured and neglected, LC had a rough start to life as a pet bird. But thanks to her new mom, Sandy, she can now look forward to a long and healthy life with her new family. Read all about LC in her featured profile and post a comment to let everyone know what you think. Her story may just inspire you to be an angel to a special needs bird of your own!

kudos to you for saving that sweet little birdie! i hate & despise those stupid humans that don’t take necessary actions for their pets; if they did that to a person they’d be in serious trouble! not to mention that there could hafe been jail time for the neglect & lack of actions. some people just shouldn’t have pets… again blessings to you for doing the right thing! >:}

What a great gal you are, Sandy! Such a wonderful, loving person to bring a bird back to health like that. We need more people like you!

What an amazing testimony of what love can do… that bird is so amazing and so are you for going the extra mile to do WHATEVER to make his life comfortable. The sad truth is that most people would not have bothered!!! LC appears to be a happy well adjusted and very much loved, bird…
