Petsmart Sued for Psittacosis Deaths
Sunday June 22, 2008
The psittacosis outbreak in Petsmart stores earlier this year has lead to a lawsuit. According to Fox News, a Texas family that was infected by a Cockatiel that they purchased from the chain last October are seeking justice regarding the death of their father and debilitating sickness of their daughter. They feel as though Petsmart neglected their duty to inform customers about potential health risks, and that they should be stopped from selling birds.
Check out this local coverage of the Petsmart Psittacosis Lawsuit for more on the story.
Do you think that Petsmart is responsible for compensating the family? To voice your opinion, vote in the poll on my forum and feel free to post any comments that you'd like to share.
