1st Blue Cheeked Amazon Hatched in America

Wednesday June 21, 2006
The first known hatch of a Blue Cheeked Amazon in the USA occured on May 22, 2006, at Hill Country Aviaries in Texas. The birth of this rare breed is a significant event in aviculture, and already has several prominent aviaries trying for a blue cheek of their own. Zupreem is holding a contest to Name the Baby Bird with a prize of $100 cash and some free Zupreem bird diet for the winner. Whether the baby is a male or a female is unknown, but the bird will be sexed at 5 weeks of age. You all had fun helping me name my little Oliver -- why not stop by Zupreem.com and lend your expertise to naming this very rare little bird? You never know -- you just might win!
