What is an Asiatic Parakeet?
Wednesday May 3, 2006
The term "asiatic" describes certain bird species that originate from countries within the continent of Asia, such as India, China, and Pakistan. Of these species, the best known are the asiatic parakeets, a family which includes such popular pet bird types as Alexandrines, Moustached Parakeets, and Indian Ringnecks (like my little Oliver!) If you'd like to learn more about these colorful and intelligent birds from the Far East, then checking out Psittacula World is a must. With extensive information on even the rarest of asiatic species, and breathtaking photos of each, this is one website that really aims to quench a thirst for avian knowledge -- and boy, does it ever deliver!
